Interesting Page. FYI, there are five National Wildlife Refuges in New York (Long Island, Wallkill River, Shawangunk Grasslands, Monezuma and Iroquois).

Also, the Pine Island Mucklands (the drained swamp of the Wallkill Rier, part of which is now the Wallkill River NWR) makes the claim to be largest contiguous mucklands in the world at more than 14,000 acres. The grow many of the same crops. Perhaps someone should arrange a Muckland Olympics? With crops contests, tours, races, photo contests etc., Could be good for business for both areas. Why not let Montezuma in the fun as well. They also have an NWR and farmed mucklands.
